The major part of Bradford on Avon Museum’s interest, as with any local museum, is the history and heritage of the people who have inhabited the area- schools, clubs, families, personalities, work, play, health and local organisations.

The Museum does not have archives for detailed genealogical research. For such work, family history researchers should use National and County Archive Offices and the many online services. Links to transcripts of some directories can be found on this page (right column). Many names and photographs of people are included on this site- use the search facility which is at the top right corner of each page.
